The Sober Check SC5000 breathalyser is an entry-level, personal unit, designed to give you an indication of your breath alcohol level. This is a new breathalyser that has been introduced to supersede the Sober Check SC3000 breathalyser. The SC5000 uses a semi-oxide sensor to detect the level of alcohol on the breath.
It is an easy to use breathalyser which gives a digital read-out of the user’s breath alcohol level.
The SC5000 is calibrated for New Zealand’s legal driving limit of 400 μg/L.

The SC5000 breathalyser has an added function which allows you to test whether the unit needs calibration or not.

Recalibration is recommended every 6-12 months under normal personal use, although it may be required more or less frequently dependent upon the amount of alcohol registered by the sensor.  You will be able to identify the need for recalibration as the unit will measure significantly higher or lower than usual.
